Heading to Naigobia |
| Saturday, September 16, 2006 |
Good morning, friends!
We just got up and from our beautiful 3-bedroom flat here in Kampala. The people are so wonderful, and we had a great breakfast with fruit and made-to-order omelettes (not roughing it!). We spent time this morning together reflecting on the words in Luke 18 about the pharisee and the tax collector...on how we are made right with God when we are open and honest and humble, and not relying on our own actions and righteousness. And the good news is that God loves this kind of humility!
We are soon traveling 3 hours to Naigobia by van. We would have left sooner, but charles had a flat tire this morning and is getting it changed. At noon (or whenever we get there), there will be the dedication of the bore hole (the well). This bad boy puts out 4 gallons a minute! The village has appointed a bore hole committee that maintains and cares for the well to ensure that it is working and serves for years to come. We heard today that many people feel like this clean water is a gift from God...to this we say, AMEN!
We are priveliged to be a part of this story, and are excited to be part of this village celebration today.
Your servants,
Troy, Paul, and Mike
