Naigobya Health Center Update – November 2008 |
| Friday, December 19, 2008 |
One of the highlights of our recent trip was visiting the Naigobya Health Center. It continues to make a huge impact on the health of the village. In 2008, the health center has serviced over 6,000 patient visits and treated over 800 cases of Malaria. They have also implemented a vaccination and child-wellness program that is making a direct impact on the health of the infants and children.
Joshua, who is the lead medical professional, was overjoyed to receive the much needed medical equipment that was donated for the trip. The clinic now has everything from blood pressure gauges and stethoscopes to patient gowns and antifungal creams.
We also got the privilege of telling him about the solar powered system and equipment that will be arriving in the shipping container. This system will power the medical lab equipment, refrigerate the medications and provide lighting for evening emergency medical care.
