Feed My Starving Children - Food Distribution |
| Sunday, February 03, 2008 |
A large shipping container was shipped to Uganda in the Spring of 2007. It was a collaborative effort between several groups and contained everything from church pews to wedding dresses.
Among the many things in the container were 3 pallets of food which were donated by Feed My Starving Children (www.fmsc.org). The 99 boxes of food were enough to provide 21,398 meals! The food packets are specially formulated to provide maximum nutrition though a Chicken flavored rice meal. Judging from the faces of the children…it was pretty darn good!
The food received in Naigobya was distributed through the local church to the orphans in their community. The children were enjoying a meal when members of our team visited in August. They saw them eat it with their own eyes….which misted over quickly.
The Church school which serves orphans and poor children in the villageof Bulumwaki received the other portion of food.
Nutrition is a very basic need. This food along with clean water, vitamins and healthcare is making a tremendous difference in the lives of the children. These children are the future. We pray that continued support of their basic needs will be provided.
