Robert of Naigobya ... his story ... |
| Wednesday, September 20, 2006 |
We broke bread with Robert in Naigobya yesterday ... and here is his story ...
The first step of a borehole is the survey team ... who looks for the best possible drilling site ... the survey team checked the various spots over and over again and had a hard time finding water ... Naigobya is very rocky and has rougher terrain than other villages ... but fortunately, 100 meters from the church they found a site that had good water access and a good reservoir underground ...
The issue was that this land was no longer on Jonathon's, the man who agreed to donate land for the borehole ... the team approached Robert, who owned the land to see if he would donate his land ...
Robert said that he really had to think about it, for there would not be anything in it for him ...
But, he decided to do it ... and that decision has changed his life ...
He said that the past week or so as he saw how the church worked to put in this borehole just to serve the people of the village, he began to have a change of heart ... he was impressed with the giving hearts and servant attitudes of all who were involved ...
He told us yesterday that due to what he has witnessed over the past few weeks, he is going to start coming to church and wants to take classes to learn more about this faith ...
It has been amazing to all of us how God works on so many levels ... by providing fresh water for the children He loves ... giving them hope through the message that they are special and loved and precious ...and by reaching out to a man who had wandered away and who He wanted back home ...
